About 30 border police and customs workers have been detained Tuesday morning and taken in for questioning after a massive sting operation by anticorruption authorities that involved five customs points in western Romania, people close to the investigation told Mediafax newswire.

Citroen Romania has launched C-Zero, an electric car model, on the Romanian market. The model is priced at EUR 36,600. This is the first electric car officially available in Romania and will be in stock in the following weeks. Vulcan mountain resort in Romania, one of the newest such resorts in the country, has received a new cable car, part of a larger ski resort development program financed by the Tourism Ministry and the local city council. The cable car was however stuck during the inauguration ceremony last week-end, due to a broken sensor.

About 35 percent of Romanians polled by website ivox.ro said they can spend EUR 300 to EUR 500 this year on holidays, while 19.37 percent said their 2011 holiday budget ranges between EUR 500 and EUR 1,000.
