Yahoo.ro, the Romanian version of the popular portal, will be launched on March 9. Currently, Yahoo.ro is in technical tests and users who reach this address are redirected to Yahoo UK. The portal will contain most of the Yahoo services and also a summary of the most important Romanian news. According to rotld.ro, the Yahoo.ro domain was bought by Yahoo company before 2001.

The Yahoo network had in Romania over 7.9 million unique visitors and over 5.7 million Romanian are using Yahoo Messenger, according MediaCafe, which sells advertising for Yahoo in Romania. To celebrate the launch of Yahoo.ro, the company is organizing a Gogol Bordello concert at Sala Palatului in Bucharest, on March 9. Gogol Bordello is one of the most famous gypsy punk bands in the world. More details about the Gogol Bordello concert here.
