Romanian President invites Prime Minister for talks on budget

President Klaus Iohannis will meet tomorrow with Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu to talk about the Government’s plan on the state budget for 2017.

Iohannis had a phone talk with Grindeanu yesterday, in which he invited the PM to the Cotroceni Palace for a clarifying analysis, said the President’s spokesperson Madalina Dobrovolschi.

She said that finance minister Viorel Stefan would also attend the meeting. According to Dobrovolski, the Presidential Administration is concerned about the figures of the new state budget for this year.

Asked whether there have been discussions with representatives of Romania’s National Bank (BNR), the spokesperson said that she can’t confirm or deny the information.
