Almost all Lufthansa flights that should have taken off or landed on the Bucharest airport on Monday (April 22 ) were canceled because of a strike which affects airline Lufthansa. The strike affects the 18 flights which should have reached Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Dusseldorf, from Bucharest, or which should have landed in Bucharest. Passengers who had tickets on any of these flights had been contacted by Lufthansa in the previous day to be re-scheduled or re-routed.

Lufthansa canceled almost all its flights, as its ground support staff is asking for salary increases. Only 20 flights on short and medium distances, and 12 on long distances will be served, out of a total of 1,800 flights. Lufthansa had warned on Saturday that almost all its flights on ten airports will be canceled. The most affected airport is Frankfurt West, with only six flights served out of 50.
