The former president of the Brasov County Council Aristotel Cancescu was sent to court yesterday by the anticorruption prosecutors for abuse of office.

According to the DNA prosecutors, Gavril Matei, who was county councilor, and Lucia Cristina Grama, the manager of a company called Licofrig SRL, tried to illegally obtain a plot of 110 sqm for a store within the Emergency Hospital Brasov, based on a preliminary fraudulent agreement with Aristotel Cancescu.

Gavril Matei had previously identified the opportunity to open a pharmacy in the hospital’s courtyard. Matei and Grama were also indicted.
