Famous Dutch violinist Andre Rieu returns for concert in Romania next year
Dutch violinist Andre Rieu, dubbed the King of Waltz, will return to Romania in June next year for a new concert. Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra had no less than seven concerts in Bucharest this summer, which gathered over 85,000 spectators.
Next year’s concert will take place in Constitutiei Square, in front of the Parliament’s Palace, the same location as this year. The announced date is June 11.
Tickets start selling on Tuesday morning (December 22) starting 10:00 AM. The tickets cost between RON 160 and RON 800 (EUR 35-177) and can be purchased online on eventim.ro and from Eventim’s partner stores (Orange, Vodafone, Germanos, Carturesti and Humanitas bookshops, and OMV gas stations).
Last year, when Andre Rieu announced his first concert in Romania, the tickets sold in less than three hours. The high demand determined him to have no less than seven concerts in Bucharest over a period of two weeks.
In 2016, Andre Rieu will have another tour in the region, which includes concerts in Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Vienna, Dresden, and Krakow, from mid-May to the beginning of June. Then he has almost a month clear in his calendar before he returns home for the traditional series of concerts (six) in Maastricht, the Netherlands, according to the schedule on his official website.
This means that he may again have not one but several concerts in Bucharest.
