Emil Cioran was a Romanian philosopher and essayist who became famous for his finely crafted essays and aphorisms dealing with alienation, boredom, futility and the decay of civilization. His works helped him become one of the greatest nihilistic philosophers of the 20th century.

Romania will emerge from recession behind most other countries, as the crisis hit with a six-month delay, Prime Minister Emil Boc has said. The recession didn't affect Romania until the end of 2008, while most of the world economies were impacted earlier that year, Boc told a meeting with the Romanian community in New York.

Romanians flocked over the summer to offer their cars as support for advertising and get money in return. Carmedia, a company which offers car advertising services, has reached a database of 1,000 active cars from Bucharest, five times more than it had at the beginning of the summer, when it started to operate, Maxime Porte, managing director of Carmedia told romania-insider.com. Drivers can get more than RON 400 a month, as well as a free weekly car wash for allowing companies to place campaign stickers on their cars.
