World's Biggest McDonald's to be built in London for Olympics
The world's biggest McDonald's will be built in London for the upcoming Olympic Games. The 3,000 sqm monster fast food joint will be in East London, near the Olympic Village but will not be permanent, with plans to take it down after the Olympics.
The burger and fries leviathan will have seating for 1,500 people and employ 2,000 staff. Various super sized figures for projected sales are cropping up in the media, with estimates of 50,000 Big Macs being sold and millions of people visiting. The mega McDonald's is to be ready in time for the July 27 Olympic opening ceremony and will be taken down sometime after September 9, when the Paralympics finish.
McDonald's ha 33,000 locations worldwide serving nearly 68 million customers in 119 countries each day. The fast food operator ended 2011 with revenues of USD 27 billion, a global comparable sales increase of 5.6 percent on 2010.
