Romania’s Health Ministry has received six offers for the provision of an IT system which would improve the health services in the rural areas. The project is estimated at EUR 17.6 million (VAT included).

Companies which have submitted bids include Romsys, Dedalus Teamnet, GMV Soluciones Globales Internet (Spain), and three joint ventures made of HP Romania, Provus and S&T Romania, Softline International, European Funds Invest and Information Business Consulting, as well as Telekom Romania Communications (the former Romtelecom) and Assist Software, reports local Profit.ro.

The project, which is called Telemedicina, will take six months to implement and will be financed with money from the state budget and non-reimbursable external funds. The system will assist family doctors in villages in solving medical cases with the help of specialists located in other places.
