Romanian Police get Jaguar high performance car to catch speedsters on highways

10 August 2012

A special task force of the Romanian Police will be driving a Jaguar XFR to monitor the traffic on highways, especially on the Sun Highway to the seaside, and catch speeding drivers. The Police received the car for six months for free from the car importer.

The 510 horse power Jaguar costs some EUR 103,000 and can reach 100 kilometers per hour in 5 seconds.

The team of policemen who will drive this care were trained by Romania's national rally champion Valentin Porcişteanu

This is not the first high speed car used by the Romanian Police, who have to face an increasing number of drivers with expensive sports cars, and chase them on highways. In August last year, the Police received a Lotus Evora S to use for two years.
