The Swiss franc – Romanian leu exchange rate reached a peak of RON 3.35 per franc on Wednesday, after the Swiss currency has continuously appreciated throughout the year. The Romanian currency depreciated by 18 percent against the Swiss franc compared to January this year.

Romanian Environment Minister Laszlo Borbely said Tuesday that the car pollution tax will be changed to the effect that owners of older cars, “which produce more pollution,” will have to pay a higher tax.

The Swiss Federal Council will offer a EUR 140 million financing for Romania, with the targeted areas including the development of the business climate, the reform of the judicial system, the Eastern border security, education and social inclusion. The two countries have recently signed an agreement for a Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme on narrowing the economic and social disparities within the European Union.

Victor Armaselu is the new vicepresident for sales and distribution with Ursus Breweries, having been promoted from the trade marketing director position, where he was also dealing with the marketing management for the Stejar beer.
