Apple officially launches iTunes Music for Romania

29 September 2011

iTunes, Apple's store for digital content (music, books), has been officially opened for Romania, allowing Romanians to buy music online through this channel. The iBookStore has also been opened for Romania.

Apple announced in 2009 its intention to enter the East European market, where the piracy rate is still high. The EU has requested for equal conditions for the online sale of music across its space. Apple has made a similar move in 12 other European countries. iTunes has been previously available only for the US, UK, Germany, France, Australia and Canada.

Songs on iTunes can be bought for prices starting with EUR 0.99, while full albums costs from EUR 5.
