28 August 2014

Over 300 philosophers from all over the world are in Bucharest starting Thursday, August 28, until September 2, for the European Analytic Philosophy Congress, which is organized by the Bucharest University.

Renowned philosophers, such as Kit Fine from the NY University, Susanne Bobzien from Oxford, Fabrice Correia from the Neuchatel University, and Jennifer Saul from the Sheffield University will hold presentations at the congress.

Presentations will be organized in the amphitheaters of the Philosophy, Law and Sociology Faculties in Bucharest. The opening ceremony is set for Thursday, August 28, at 13,00, in the Aula Magna of the Law Faculty.

Romania has a team of 15 researchers in philosophy, joining teams from many EU countries, and from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Iran, Israel, Mexico, The US, New Zealand, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, representing top universities around the world.

The congress dinner will take place on August 30 at the Novotel Hotel on Calea Victoriei.

The Philosophy Congresses are organized every three years by the European Society for Analytic Philosophy (ESAP), to establish contacts and encourage collaboration among European analytic philosophers.

The previous congress took place in Lisboa in 2005, in Krakow in 2008 and in Milan in 2011. More about the eight edition in Bucharest, here.
