After a confusing week for holders of intellectual property rights and registered individuals in Romania, who were supposed to apply and pay their social contributions on a very short notice and without many details about the process, only 10 percent of them actually went to submit the required documents. The deadline to do so was yesterday, when people queued at the pension houses and at the workforce agencies to submit and pay their respective dues.

The Austrian chamber music orchestra Johann Strauss Ensemble will perform in Romania in December, within their Romanian national Christmas tour. The Bucharest show, under the name Best of Vienna, will he held on December 11 at Sala Palatului in the capital city, starting 20,00 hours. The show will include compositions which became famous over time in the Austrian capital city.

Former journalist Radu Cosarca will become Enel Romania's external relations manager, according to Mediafax newswire. He will take over the new position in September, when he will undergo a training period. During this period, the current external relations director, Paolo Chighine will continue on the job until the end of the fall, when Radu Cosarca will take on the job responsibilities, according to Enel's press office.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is analyzing the possibility to lend up to EUR 200 million for the Kaulfand operations in Poland and Bulgaria and for Lidl's activity in Romania and Bulgaria, according to Bulgarian media. The funding should cover the market entry costs for the two retailers on these new markets.
