Vodafone Romania will launch the iPhone 4 on December 17, the company has announced. Vodafone is the second telecom operator in Romania to launch the newest iPhone, after Orange brough the telephone on the local market towards the end of September.

Artmark auction house will organize an auction with EUR 1 million worth of paintings on December 16 in Bucharest and in Sibiu. The paintings by Romanian artists will be simultaneously auctioned from Bucharest and Sibiu through a duplex electronic system. The auction is organized in partnership with Brukental Museum in Sibiu. The Bucharest auction will take place at the J.W Marriott hotel, while the one in Sibiu, at the Hilton Hotel Sibiu, both starting 19,30 hours.

Romania will issue only 5,500 work permits for foreigners next year, 2,500 fewer than this year, and will issue fewer work authorizations to temporary employees, for whom social security contributions are not paid.

Romania short film Stopover, directed by Ioana Uricaru, has been included in the competition for the Sundance International Film festival. The film has been nominated in the International Narrative Shorts category, along with other 14 films.

The documentary will also have English subtitles.
