Romanian arm wrestler Ion Oncescu has won his fifth world title in the 100 kg category, in the championship held in the United States between December 6 and 12, according to the Romanian Arm Wrestling Association.

British retailer Tesco is close to making an acquisition and thus entering the Romanian market, according to Romanian media. The British retailer is currently negotiating to take over hypermarket operator Real Hypermarket Romania, according to Ziarul Financiar.

A solar panels park on over 190 hectares will be built in Cluj - Napoca, according to Sorin Apostu, the mayor of Cluj Napoca. WWS Energy Development LLC will build the photovoltaic park and 30 percent of the electricity it will produce will be supplied to the city hall.

The first snow of the season started falling in Bucharest on Friday morning (December 10), while snowing has taken over most of Romania during the last 24 hours. Meteorologists have issues a yellow code for snow valid until the beginning of the week-end.
