ING launches Face ID authentication service in Romania

Local lender ING has launched for the first time in Romania the option for its customers to log in to the Home Bank application via the Face ID authentication service available for iPhone X terminals from the US producer Apple.

The product is currently available only to ING customers.

Dutch group ING Bank has a digital investment budget worth EUR 800 million worldwide. The lender is investing the money in different platforms, which will ensure the same quality of services regardless of the country, reports Ziarul Financiar.

“We get inspiration from Alibaba, Facebook, or Amazon to offer a digital experience,” said Aris Bogdaneris, who is in the Management Board of ING Group.

“Our global competitors are rather platforms like Alibaba, Facebook or Amazon than traditional banks,” he added.
