Two gold medals for Romania at the 2017 World Rowing Championships

Romanian athletes won two gold medals for their country at the 2017 World Rowing Championships organized in Sarasota-Bradenton, United States.

On Saturday, September 30, the Romanian team made up of Ionela-Livia Lehaci and Gianina-Elena Beleaga got the gold in the Lightweight Women's Double Sculls (LW2x). They finished the race with a time of 06:55.880, better that that of New Zealand’s team (06:56.090) and the US team (06:56.380).

The next day, Romania also managed to win the gold medal in Women’s Eight race. The Romanian team made up of Ioana Vrinceanu, Viviana-Iuliana Bejinariu, Mihaela Petrila, Iuliana Popa, Madalina Beres, Denisa Tilvescu, Adelina Bogus, and Laura Oprea completed the race with the best time of 06:06.400. Canada took the silver and New Zealand won bronze.

The 2017 edition of the World Rowing Championships ended on Sunday, October 1.

Romanian athletes won two gold medals for their country at the 2017 World Rowing Championships organized in Sarasota-Bradenton, United States.
