Romanian Romtelecom recruits former IBM South – Eastern Europe manager

29 November 2012

Romanian Mihai Tudor, the former IBM general manager for South – Eastern Europe, has moved to telecom company Romtelecom, where he will be commercial executive director for the business segment. He will replace George Makowski, who left the company in August this year.

Tudor, 52, left IBM in May, when he said he wanted to take some time off from business, and return either as entrepreneur, or as a manager in a multinational, but not necessarily in IT&C.

At Romtelecom, he will coordinate sales on strategic accounts, corporate sales and the business commercial operations, which include product management, marketing, call centers and system integration.

Mihai Tudor, who holds an MBA from the Open University Business School, was sales manager for IBM Romania between 1998 and 2001, regional manager between 2001 and 2006 and GM of IBM Romania between 2006 and 2010.

Romtelecom, owned by Greek OTE, saw its revenues down after the first nine months of the year, but it managed to get back into profit. Romtelecom posted EUR 470 million in total revenues in the first three quarters of the year, after revenues of EUR 492 million in Q1 to Q3 2011.
