Romanian radio show 'Argentina' finalist at New York International Festival

The radio show 'Argentina,' by Romanian Ilinca Stihi, is among the finalists at the New York Festival's International Radio Program and Promotion Awards. The show, which premiered in March 2011, on Radio Romania Cultural, was selected in the Best Drama Special section. This is not the only Romanian radio show selected in the competition. Radio Romania Junior is also among finalists, for Best Online Radio.

The show 'Argentina' won the big prize at Premios Ondas, the international section-Radio at Barcelona, in November 2011, the Marulic prize at The International Festival of Radio show, Fiction and Documentary, (in May 2011 in Croatia) and was nominated at Prix Italy, at Torino, in September 2011.

'Argentina' tells a story in which Vlad Tepes- not the infamous medieval Romanian prince, but a young radio producer - finds his salvation from the boring daily routine in an imaginary world.
The winners of the New York Festival's International Competition Radio Program and Promotion Awards will be announced in late May and an awards gala will take place on June 18 in New York.
The New York festival, started in 1982, honors the most original and creative projects for radio from radio stations, national networks and independent producers worldwide. This year more than 2,000 projects from 27 countries were submitted in the competition.

The jury of this year’s New York Festival's International Radio and Promotion Awards Program consists of over 50 radio industry professionals from around the world.
