One bus line in the capital has been suspended, seven lines are running shorter routes and one line has been extended, according to Brandusa Raeceanu, spokesman of Bucharest Public Transport Company (RATB), quoted by Mediafax newswire.

The 223 bus line, which connects Soseaua de Centura-Glina and CET Sud has been suspended, while the buses on the 261 line are operating an extended route, from Baneasa Commercial Complex to Pasajul Baneasa. The buses on the 106 line, which normally go to the Rosu neighborhood, will end their route at the Master bus stop, buses 137, 421 and 236 are stopping at Liceul Auto, while those on the 162 line will end their route at 16 Februarie neighborhood. Also, buses on the 125 line are to stop at Romprim, and those on line 302 will end their route at Soseaua Alexandriei, one stop before the terminal in the Fortuna neighborhood.

Last night RATB employees cleaned snow and ice off the tram lines in Bucharest, so no disruption is reported, added Brandusa Raeceanu, quoted by Mediafax.

Meteorologists issued a code orange for blizzards in Bucharest and 17 counties in the South and South-East of the country, from Wednesday morning ( January 25 ) until Thursday ( January 26 ) at 18:00. The heavy snow has blocked routes in and out Bucharest, and some buses in Bucharest took alternative routes. Moreover, several national roads were closed, over 20 trains  and more than 16 flights were canceled due to the snowfall.
