Microsoft appoints expat Kostas Loukas to lead Romanian subsidiary

Microsoft Romania appointed Kostas Loukas as new general manager for Romania, replacing Sorin Eftene, who had been the interim GM.

Kostas started his career with Microsoft in Greece as financial controller in 2005, and then for three years was financial and administrative manager. Starting January 2012, he led Microsoft's business for Cyprus and Malta. Kostas holds an Executive MBA degree from Insead, as well as a degree in finance from the London School of Economics and an MSc in Economy from the Athens University.

Eftene had been named interim GM for Microsoft Romania in the beginning of this year, replacing Ronald Binkofski, who left to lead the Polish subsidiary. Binkofsky had been the first expat at the helm of Microsoft's Romanian subsidiary.
