Medieval Castle Tournament starts at Brasov fortress, continues with three more locations

The Medieval Festival "Turnirul Cetatilor" will take place between August 3 and 5 in Brasov Fortress. The official opening of the festival is on Friday afternoon with the knights and ladies parade at 13:00 along on the Fortress route-: Nicolae Iorga Street-Muresenilor-Piata Sfatului and back.

After the parade, events will continue at the Fortress, where there will be concerts of medieval music, medieval plays, jousting knights, weapons handling demonstrations, competitions for public fire performances, exhibition of weapons and traditional crafts workshops.

A Medieval Kindergarten will be organized for kids every day between 12:00-20:00, where children can become knights or princesses or learn popular crafts, said Bogdan Balasca, representative of the Fortress Knights Barsa Association.

Organizers of the event, the Tourism Development and Promotion Agency and SC Aro Palace Brasov City expect 20,000 people to participate in the Brasov part of the festival. Last year around 100,000 people came out in total across the four locations the festival visits

Festival “Turnirul Cetatii” continues between August 10-12 at Bran Castle, on the set "Inima Reginei” (Queen's Heart), between August 16-19 in the Fagaras Fortress and August 31 to September 2 at Feldioara.
