Lufthansa introduces 4 weekly Bucharest – Berlin flights from 2012, for EUR 49 one-way

Airline Lufthansa will introduce four weekly flights connecting Bucharest to Berlin from June next year, at a price of EUR 49 for one way trip, according to the company. This new pricing system is valid for the Berlin market. The new one-way basic price of EUR 49 includes bonus miles, baggage and a variety of in-flight catering, according to the airline.

The airline will also double its capacity for the Sibiu flight, from the current seven weekly flights, to 14.

Lufthansa had 615,000 passengers on the Romanian market in 2010, 10 percent more than in 2009. The airline is part of the Lufthansa group, that also includes Swiss Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Germanwings. In Romania, the group operates 140 weekly flights, most of which through Lufthansa – 97, 44 through Austrian Airlines and 7 through Swiss Airlines.

The Lufthansa Group employed some 117,000 personnel at the end of 2010, and achieved a total operating revenue of EUR 27.3 billion for the year.
