HD Automotive International, a company owned by Romanian firm Polisea and German company Automotive Stefani, will build a car parts production unit in Craiova. Polisea currently produces paper rolls for the textile industry, while Automotive Stefani produces flexible materials for the car industry and works for companies like Audi, BMW and Volkswagen.

Romanian President Traian Basescu on Monday passed the law on the “small reform” in the justice system, which implements a series of measures to speed up trials. The law also allows more people and bodies to file appeals, under the law- the Ombudsman and the Coordinating Council of the Supreme Court.

Several large retailers will open stores next year in Polus Center Constanta mall, which has been re-branded as Maritimo Shopping Center after the Immofinanz takeover. Swedish clothing retailer H&M and sports retailer Decathlon will open stores in the mall in 2011, when Immofinanz plans to finalize works on the shopping center. French hypermarket chain Auchan will also have a store in the Constanta shopping mall, which should be ready in September next year.

An exhibition featuring violins, violas, cellos and double bass which have won prizes in the international competition Eufonia for young violin makers will be on at the Enescu Museum in Bucharest (141 Calea Victoriei - MAP) from October 25 to November 2nd. Concerts featuring violinists Alexandru Tomescu, Clara Cernat and Thierry Huillet will be organized within the event.

Ten European Union member states still impose restrictions for Romania migrant workers, according to the Romanian Labor Ministry, quoted by Agerpres. The United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France, Ireland, Austria, Luxembourg, Holland and Malta make the group of EU countries which restrict the access both Romanian and Bulgarian workers on their markets. The transition period for workers in Romania and Bulgaria started with the EU accession in 2007 and will end in 2013.
