The average Romanian family owns 2.6 Internet-connected devices which can store large quantities of data, found a recent study issued by Kaspersky Lab. Romania ranks last in this ranking, where the first spot is occupied by Saudi Arabia, with 4.3 gadgets. The average in the US is three gadgets per family.
The PC remains the most popular IT equipment in Romania, with 71 percent of the respondents in the study owning one. Around 16.4 percent have two PCs at home. Laptops are popular too: over half of Romanians say they own a laptop in the family, while 13.3 percent own two or more.
Smartphones come next in popularity: 40 percent of respondents own a smartphone per family, while 9.6 percent have two or more smartphones. Tablets have not yet become that popular in Romania, as only 5 percent of respodents say their family owns a tablet.
A combo of all these devices is rare in Romania, only 0.7 percent of respodents say their family has a PC, a laptop, a smartphone and a tablet.
