IMF names Tolosa as new resident representative for Romania, replacing Tonny Lybek

Tonny Lybek, the head of the International Monetary Fund IMF office in Romania will be replaced by Guillermo Tolosa starting July 1. Tolosa will come to Romania from Armenia, where he has been the IMF resident representative since 2009. Prior to that, he worked in Washington, at the IMF's Emerging Markets Strategy department. He joined the IMF in 2005 and has a PhD in economic sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Lybek was named at the helm of the Romania and Bulgaria office in 2009, replacing Juan Jose Fernandez-Ansola, who also had a three-year term.
