Free WiFi hotspots in Bucharest's First District parks

15 July 2014

Several parks in Bucharest’s First District now have wireless internet connections, which can be accessed for free by everyone.

The First District City Hall introduced at the beginning of July free wireless internet networks in the Kiseleff, Bazilescu, Venus and Regina Maria parks in the district.

Internet access is password free, but access has been restricted for adult content and piracy websites. Since the beginning of July, 500 people used the free internet connection in these parks, according to the First District City Hall.

The installed equipment can allow for 1,000 simultaneous connections for each park, to avoid internet traffic jam. The authorities promise a transfer speed of 10 Mb per second internationally, and 100 Mb per second for metropolitan traffic.
