Flights at Otopeni and Baneasa in Romanian capital canceled because of snow

Several internal and external flights at both International Airport Aurel Vlaicu (also known as Baneasa) and Henri Coanda Airport (Otopeni) in the Romanian capital city were canceled, due to the severe weather conditions in the country, according to the Bucharest National Company Airports (CNAB).

As a result, the flights canceled at Henri Coanda Airport are: Turkish Airlines 1047/1048 Istanbul – Bucharest– Istanbul, Lufthansa 1656/1657 Munich - Bucharest - Munich, Czech Airlines 804/805 Prague - Bucharest - Prague, Lufthansa 1422/1423  Frankfurt – Bucharest – Frankfurt, KLM 1379/1372 Amsterdam – Bucharest – Amsterdam, Tarom 730 Sibiu – Bucharest, Tarom 726 Targu-Mures – Bucharest, Tarom 610 Timisoara – Bucharest, Tarom 650 Cluj – Bucharest, Tarom 710 Iasi - Bucharest, Tarom 810 Suceava - Bucharest, Tarom 620 Baia Mare - Bucharest, and Tarom 630 Oradea - Bucharest.

Also, because of the bad weather conditions, the flights canceled at International Airport Aurel Vlaicu are: German Wings 8716/8717 Bucharest – Berlin, German Wings 794/795 Bucharest – Koln Bonn, and WizzAir 3185/3186 Valencia - Bucharest – Valencia.

“We recommend passengers that have flight reservations today to contact the airline representatives,” reads a CNAB statement.

Meteorologists have issued a code orange for blizzards in Bucharest and 17 counties in the South and South-East of the country, from Wednesday morning ( January 25 ) until Thursday ( January 26 ) at 18:00.
