One hot summer afternoon, Romania Insider has talked to Kingsley- a natural born story teller too- in his Bucharest apartment, surrounded by an ad-hoc exhibition of his paintings.

Romania's GDP could turn negative in real terms in the third quarter of the year due to the public spending cuts and the VAT increase, writes a report issued by BCR. However, the last quarter of the year could bring an improvement, but uncertainties are still high. BCR has kept its economic prognosis to a 3 percent DGP drop for this year.

Construction company Romstrade, owned by Romanian businessman Nelu Iordache, has landed a EUR 1.25 million additional contracts for works on the Bucharest North ring road. The contract was awarded for design and execution works on the segment 1A-DN2 of the north ring road.

The lower Chamber of the Romanian Parliament voted on Monday the draft law on the National Integrity Agency (ANI) with 204 to two votes and two abstentions. Members of the social democratic (PSD) opposition party refused to vote on the bill and left the meeting.

Four babies have died after a blast which took place at Giulesti Maternity hospital in Bucharest last evening. The fire, which started started in the resuscitation unit, was soon after extinguished, but 11 newborn babies were affected. They were one or two days old and premature born. As events unfolded, not all the babies had been identified, while mothers were waiting outside the hospital for news.

A Romanian chef who has completed a two-day Indonesian food course has won the the first prize in the Indonesian food cooking contest recently held at the Indonesian Embassy in Bucharest.
