The story of the Romanian diplomat who was detained in Russia after being caught while allegedly receiving military secret information triggered another series of articles. The news itself, which involved the diplomat Gabriel Grecu being named 'persona non-grata' and receiving a 48-hour deadline to leave the country, is surprising as usually this type of information is not sent to the press. The media hears about such cases only after they have been settled among the two countries involved. In this case, the Russia agency has sent press releases to the Russian media, spreading the word in the entire world.
