New communication agency for Romania’s Enescu Festival

DC Communication, a Romanian communication and public relations company, is the communication agency of the George Enescu International Festival and Competition beginning 2018.

Between 2012 and 2017, Artexim worked with Oma Vision on the festival's communication activities. The collaboration was done on the basis of a partnership, as no public funds were allotted for the services provided.

“Artexim, the organizer of the George Enescu International Festival and Competition, announces that it will receive DC Communication’s consultancy, as partner, starting next year.” As partner of the festival, DC Communication will offer consultancy to Artexim’s internal press department for fundraising activities, maintaining sponsorship and media relations, and leading the communication strategy to a new stage, the organizers said.

DC Communication was founded in 1995 by Teodor Frolu and Crenguța Roșu.

The 16th edition of the George Enescu International Competition will take place in Bucharest between September 1 and September 23, 2018. It will bring together young musicians competing in four sections: cello, violin, piano and composition. The deadline for registrations is April 15, 2018.

The 24th edition of the George Enescu International Festival will take place in 2019. The opening concert will be delivered by the Berliner Philharmoniker, conducted by Kirill Petrenko.

The festival runs several concert series: Great Orchestras of the World, By Midnight recitals and concerts at the Romanian Athenaeum, and also the Music of the XXIst Century. The Great Orchestras of the World concerts take place at Sala Palatului, which is set to undergo renovation. Vladimir Jurowski, the artistic director of the George Enescu Festival, spoke of the need of a new concert hall for the festival as well.
