Weekend parade in Bucharest for St. Patrick’s Day

17 March 2017

St Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s national day, is celebrated in Bucharest this year as well, with the now traditional parade set to take place on March 19.

The mini-parade, organized by the Ireland Romania Network Association, features pipers from Donegal and Irish dancers from the STEYsha School of Irish Dance, The Irish Balladeers, Romania’s Got Talent show semi-finalist Stefan Orheanu, and the dance group Irish Way.

The event takes place in the Herastrau Park, starting at the Charlles des Gaulles entrance, between 12:00 and 15:00.

The artists will walk from the main entrance to the stage, in the park, where the public can enjoy a show of Irish music and dance. The event will be followed by a concert featuring The Irish Balladeers and Stefan Orheanu.

More about this year’s celebration on the event’s Facebook page.

Every year on March 17th the Irish across the globe celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The holiday remembers St Patrick, Ireland’s patron saint, who brought Christianity to Ireland in the fifth century.
