29 September 2014

About 400 developers of applications for the Android platform are expected to attend the largest regional conference dedicated to them, Droidcon Eastern Europe 2014, which will take place on October 10-11 in Bucharest. The number of participants is estimated to be 60% higher compared to last year.

The conference will feature updates in various sectors, such as Android Wear, Android TV, Augmented Reality, Android Studio, gaming, but also more sensitive topics, such as the security of mobile apps.

It will also include a contest for developers who will present ideas for solving some of the technical problems related to high interest applications in Google Appstore. Developers who present the best ideas will be awarded smartphones and tablets.

There will also be a section dedicated to new ideas and prototypes which will be presented on stage. Some of these projects may even get financing. Droidcom was first organized in Berlin, in 2008, and Bucharest was the fourth city to host such a conference in 2011.
