The Romanian national football team defeated the Luxembourg team on Tuesday by 3 to 1 and managed to obtain the first victory in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. The match was held in Piatra Neamt in Romania, a few days after Romania's match against Bosnia Hertzegovina, when Romania lost by 2 to 1. In the match with Luxembourg, Romania scored two goals through Adrian Mutu and one through Ianis Zicu (in picture). These were Mutu's first international goals since 2008.  Romania's recent win places it fifth in the section, with five points, seven points behind the group leader France and three points behind Belarus.

Romania will play against Boznia Hertzegovina again on June 3, while on September 2, against Luxembourg. A match against the French team will follow on September 6, while on October 7, one against Belarus. Romania's last match in the Euro 2012 qualifications will be against Albania, on October 11.

The final tournament of the 14th UEFA European Football Championship will be held in Poland and Ukraine from June 8 to July 1 next year. The opening match will take place in Warsaw on June 8 and the final on July 1 in Kyiv
