Romanian tourism group Eurolines estimates a turnover of EUR 100 million for this year, up by 6% compared to last year.

The Eurolines group includes some 20 companies with various activities in the tourism sector. The group’s biggest company is Touring Europabus Romania, which owns the Eurolines tourism agencies network and is the local representative for TUI Travel Center in Romania.

Local investor Dragos Anastasiu, who controls the group, thinks that tourism could easily contribute by 5% to Romania’s GDP, reports local Wall-street.ro. He said that the industry shouldn’t wait so much from the state, but instead, should start doing something on its own.

As for the tendencies this year, early-booking reservations and the demand for exotic holidays have increased, according to company representatives.
