Romanian intelligence services warn of security breaches of TikTok app

The Romanian minister of digitalization, Sebastian Burduja, announced that the Cyberint Center of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) tested the TikTok application and discovered that it could allow access to the user's personal data, to the outline of a profile of the user, and to the access to the devices of the third parties with whom the user of the application interacts in the online environment.

The list of security breaches outlined by minister Burduja is comprehensive and goes from tracking users, even if they have the Do Not Track option turned on, to collecting information about the other services and apps installed on the device.

The technical report presented by the minister of digitalization was elaborated by the National Cyberint Center of the Romanian Intelligence Service, based on the data and information resulting from testing the TikTok application, Profit.ro reported.

DNSC will recommend institutions and public authorities uninstall their TikTok.
