Former Romanian envoy to Singapore Silviu Ionescu will be released Thursday evening from prison, after the Court of Bucharest accepted his request for his arrest to be replaced with a ban on leaving the country. On November 17, a lower court rejected his request, ruling that Ionescu's arrest is legal and justified.

The Credit Europe Bank shareholders have recently approved the appointment of Omer Tetik, the first vice-president of Credit Europe Romania Bank, as president and head of the Administration Council. Tetik replaces Murat Sabaz, who will stay in the bank’s board. Omer Tetik will start on the new job once the Romanian Central Bank (BNR) approves the management change.
