Former Romanian envoy to Singapore Silviu Ionescu will be released Thursday evening from prison, after the Court of Bucharest accepted his request for his arrest to be replaced with a ban on leaving the country. On November 17, a lower court rejected his request, ruling that Ionescu's arrest is legal and justified.

Two new expats will join the Petrom broad of directors from January 2011. Daniel Turnheim (in picture) will be the new chief financial officer of the company, replacing Reinhard Pichler, while Hilmar Kroat-Reder will be responsible for gas and energy, replacing Gerald Kappes. The two directors who will leave Petrom will have new attributions in the OMV group, the mother company of local Petrom.

Hezy Ovadia (in picture) is the new president of United Romanian Breweries Bereprod (URBB), replacing Shachar Shaine from January 2011. Shaine has been leading URBB for the last six years. Ovadia has been working in the FMCG sector and has 19 years of experience.

Arval Romania, part of BNP Paribas, has appointed Christian Busch managing director. Busch has been running the Arval subsidiary in Germany for the last six years and was head of logistics with Muller-Brot AG until then. He replaces Arnault Leglaye, who has been running the Romanian subsidiary since 2008.

The Credit Europe Bank shareholders have recently approved the appointment of Omer Tetik, the first vice-president of Credit Europe Romania Bank, as president and head of the Administration Council. Tetik replaces Murat Sabaz, who will stay in the bank’s board. Omer Tetik will start on the new job once the Romanian Central Bank (BNR) approves the management change.

Florian Aldea (in picture) is the new general manager of Carpatcement Holding, replacing Mihai Rohan, who has been working with Carpatcement for the last ten years. Rohan will remain president of the Administration Board with Carpatcement Holding for the next two years, starting January 2011.
