Local insurer Omniasig Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) recorded revenues of EUR 53 million from gross written premiums in the first three months of the year, up by almost a quarter (24%) compared to the same period in 2014.

The value of paid claims amounted to about half of the revenues, reaching EUR 26.7 million between January and March this year.

The car insurances (CASCO and RCA) continue to have the biggest share in the company’s portfolio. These generated gross written premiums of EUR 36.6 million in the first three months of the year, up by a third year-on-year.

Last year, Omniasig VIG recorded gross written premiums of EUR 191.4 million, down by 2.35% compared to 2013. The company ranked third among local insurers in the first quarter of the year, surpassed only by Allianz Tiriac, and Astra Asigurari.
