Swedish fashion retailer H&M will open the first store in Romania in March this year, in AFI Palace Cotroceni and plans to open six stores in the first half of 2011, according to Wall-street.ro. H&M plans to hire at least 300 people in Romania by the end of the year.

The number of medical leaves granted last year in Romania dropped by 45 percent compared to 2009 following the introduction of a stricter system, the Health Ministry said in a press release Thursday. As many as 2.9 million medical leave certificates were granted between January 1 and November 30 in 2009, only 1.6 million certificates were issued in the same interval in 2010, the ministry said.
