Jeunesses International Music Competition brings violinists from around the world to Bucharest this spring

A new edition of the Dinu Lipatti Jeunesses International Music Competition will bring violinists from all around the world to Bucharest this spring.

The event, organized under the EUROPAfest brand, will take place between May 16 and May 23, 2015. The violinists will compete for prizes worth EUR 10,000.

The competition’s jury is international, including performers and teachers, renowned experts in the field, with experience in identifying and educating new talents from the world of classical music.

The first edition of Jeunesses International Music Competition took place in 1994. The competition aims to discover and promote new talents and to support young artists in their future careers.

It takes place every year, for different disciplines: violin, piano, flute, clarinet, and composition. This year, the contest is all about violin. Last year, it was dedicated to flute, and 143 competitors from 38 countries attended.
