French bakery chain Paul launches catering service in Bucharest

07 July 2015

French bakery chain Paul recently launched the catering service in Romania. The new service is currently available only in Bucharest, according to the company.

"We launched this service because the clients that came into our bakeries often asked us if we also did catering," said Monica Eftimie, Chief Marketing Officer, Paul Romania.

Paul’s catering service offers clients the possibility to customize their order, combining different products for their meetings or special events at the office. Customers can choose from a wide range of plateaus with sweet and salty products, in mini versions. Those who want to use Paul’s new catering service must place the order 24 hours before the event.

Paul has entered the Romanian market in 2008 and currently operates 13 bakeries in Bucharest. Local company Moulin D'or, which manages the Paul franchise in Romania, made a turnover of EUR 5.6 million, in 2014, some 10% higher than in 2013. The company also had a net profit of EUR 610,000, according to official data from the Finance Ministry.

Moulin D’Or, with 137 employees, is part of a wider network which runs several other restaurant franchises, including Pizza Hut, KFC and Cinnabon, which appears to be owned by Romanian businessman Gabriel Popoviciu, who also owns Baneasa Shopping City, according to Romanian media.
