First rare wine auction in Romania brings 228-bottle collection for EUR 67,000

The first auction of rare wines in Romania will bring a collection of 228 bottles of Bordeaux wines, for a starting price of EUR 67,200, around EUR 230 per bottle. The auction will be held at the end of September in Bucharest and is organized by Romanian company Le Manoir and Artmark auction house.

The wines to be offered for sale at this auction can also be find in New York or Paris for the same starting prices, according to Cristian Preotu, partner Le Manoir. “Chateau Petrus 1979 will be auctioned with a starting price of EUR 20,300, a collection of Bordeaux wines (120 bottles) from 1995 to 2008 at a starting price of EUR 23,450, and a collection of wines from Chateau Rauzan Segla of 120 bottles at a starting price of EUR 11,250,” he added.

Le Manoir's associations are Romanians Maria and Cristi Preotu. The company had sales of around EUR 2 million last year, up 15 percent compared from the previous year.
