Weather alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms in almost half of Romania
Romania’s Meteorological Association (ANM) has issued a weather warning for today (July 1), forecasting heavy rains for several counties in Romania.
A total of 17 counties out of the country's 41 are currently under Code Yellow of rain, valid until 21,00. The alert applies for Maramures, Bistrita-Nasaud, Mures, Harghita, Covasna, Brasov, Suceava, Botosani, Neamt, Iasi, Bacau, Vaslui and for part of Arges, Dambovita, Prahova, Buzau and Vrancea.
Heavy rains, thunderstorms and isolated hail are expected in these regions. The amount of water is expected to exceed 20 liters per sqm, and even 40 liters per sqm in some places.
