Tax Authority blocks Bucharest transport company’s accounts

22 July 2015

Romania’s Tax Authority ANAF seized on July 21 Bucharest public transport company RATB’s accounts for a debt of over EUR 61 million to the state budget. However, RATB has challenged in court the debt calculated by ANAF.

The Tax Authority also blocked the Romanian national television TVR’s accounts, because of the high level of debt TVR has to pay the state budget.

RATB posted a turnover of EUR 166 million last year, up 13.5% compared to 2013. It moved from a loss of EUR 10.6 million in 2013 to a profit of EUR 10.5 million last year.
