Swedish retailer H&M ups sales and continues expansion in Romania

Swedish clothing retailer H&M recorded sales of SEK 549 million (some EUR 61 million) in Romania between December 1, 2013 and May 31, 2014, up 34 percent year-on-year, according to the company's six-month report.  When expressed in RON, the increase was of 30 percent.

During this period, the retailer also opened seven new stores on the local market, reaching a total network of 35 units.

In March-May 2014, H&M upped sales by 36 percent in Romania, to SEK 301 million (EUR 33.3 million). During this period, the company opened a total of five new stores.

In 2013 fiscal year, ended in November, the retailer’s sales in Romania went up 41 percent to SEK 893 million (some EUR 101 million).
