Romania’s exports reach new all-time high

Romania’s exports amounted to over EUR 32 billion in the first seven months of the year, posting a new record. The imports, however, were higher, totaling EUR 36 billion, according to recent data from the National Statistics Institute INS.

The trade deficit reached EUR 3.9 billion between January and July, up by EUR 561 million compared to the same period last year.

Bucharest, Arges and Timis were the counties which generated the highest exports, whereas Bucharest, Timis and Ilfov had the largest share of imports.

In July, the exports totaled EUR 5 billion and the imports stood at EUR 5.68 billion. The exports grew at a monthly pace of 5.8% to EUR 5 billion in July, reaching a new monthly record.
