The Romanian Post recorded a net profit of EUR 4.1 million in the first seven months of the year.

The total revenues reached EUR 147 million, whereas the expenses amounted to EUR 142 million. The revenues from financial services increased by a quarter.

The Romanian Post estimates a net profit of some EUR 360,000 for the entire year, down from EUR 5 million in 2014, as it plans to carry out its largest investment program in the last ten years, of some EUR 12.3 million, said Alexandru Petrescu, general manager. The investments include the optimization and development of the post’s electronic communications network, as well as the revamping of some local headquarters.

The market has become much more competitive, which means that the Romanian Post needs to focus on modern technologies and a friendly relationship with its customers, Petrescu added.
