Romanian forest management company sells EUR 217 mln worth of wood

Romania's state-owned forest management company Romsilva sold almost 6.3 million linear meters of wood via auctions, in the first seven months of this year.

The company received almost EUR 217 million, as final auction prices were on average 27% higher compared to the starting prices, according to Romsilva.

“The competition at the wood selling auctions organized by Romsilva in the first seven months of the year determined the increase in the average selling price,” reads a Romsilva press release.

The difference between the starting price and the award price amounted to EUR 38.1 million.
