Romanian Dacia’s sales in France go down by over 7%

Romanian brand Dacia’s new car registrations in France dropped by 7.3% in the first eight months of the year, to some 67,000 units, recording the sharpest decline among brands with high sales volumes. By comparison, the car market rose by 5.9% y-o-y in France, in the first eight months, to 1.2 million units.

Dacia’s market share reached 5.34% in France at the end of August, down from 6.1% in August 2014, reports local Mediafax.

Last month, Dacia’s registrations dropped by 16.3% to just over 4,600 cars. The French car market grew by 10% in August to over 92,000 cars.

The Renault registrations rose by 2.2% in France in the first eight months of the year, to almost 313,000 units.

France is Dacia’s largest market. Last year, Dacia sold almost 106,000 units in France, up by 13% compared to 2013.
